Left to Right: Kin (Douglas' former housemate), Yan, and Douglas, Hong Kong
NEWS: Congratulations and best wishes to Douglas Li (Fear Index guitarist) & Yan (Happy Wedding Day), Hong Kong, Sunday 22/5/2016. FEAR INDEX plays a mix of traditional ANTHRAX / METALLICA style thrash and modern post-thrash / groove (PANTERA / LAMB OF GOD). FEAR INDEX also features guitar shred solos from Douglas Li which makes the band extra special. FEAR INDEX released its debut EP Age of Wrath through Greedy Sea Records (Beijing) in 2015. FEAR INDEX is: Chester Lo (rhythm guitar / vocals), Mathew Tang (bass), Douglas Li (lead guitar), and Lai Wing Hang ("Hang") on drums. The previous drummer was Cyrus Wong.  The band has covered "Enter Sandman" (by METALLICA) and "Breaking the Law" (by JUDAS PRIEST).

At Douglas' wedding party the band was: Vocalist: Douglas, Guitarist: Joe Sat, Bassist: Fat Boy, and Drummer: Simon Tsang. The other three FEAR INDEX band members were the grooms-men. Presently Douglas and Yan are honeymooning in Melbourne, Australia. When I asked Douglas last week whether Yan supports his band activities he said: "Ya, sure"! CD REVIEW: CANNABIES (Bandung Death Metal) - "Sativa Syn" CD (2015), by Andrew Sick

Left to Right: Bobby Hydro, Andri Cannabies (vokalis), Indra Cannabies (drummer), and Kieran James (Busuk Chronicles) @ Bandung
Cannabies (Bandung Death Metal) - Sativa Syn (Brutal Mind)

Cannabies are already back with a debut full length album called "Sativa Syn" only composed with new f***ing songs! Andri (Vocals), Esa (Guitars), Ega Undergod (Bass) and Indra (Drums) are the four blunted f***ing heads making part of that hydro shitty f***ing bomb and performing a Death Metal totally f***ing sick with some more technical elements and a very influenced Brutal Death Metal side! Delivering a release in the same f***ing vein as their last EP with an energy creating their identity, Cannabies returned in force to provide a near-perfect f***ing songwriting and give us "Sativa Syn" which is totally f***ing enjoyable and inspired! Andri on Vocals is very powerful, being a little bit redundant and missing a little of diversity but still f***ing enjoyable, Esa on Guitars is f***ing great by giving in majority great and brutal f***ing riffs but performing a few a bit less good, same with Ega on Bass who is f***ing awesome and very present in the production making his job f***ing enjoyable, and finally Indra with a insane f***ing drumming filled with blast but still being able to diversify his job very well! Sativa Syn contains a very great and powerful f***ing production, mixing very well done giving an important place to the bass guitar with a total devastating sound, maybe lacking a little of heaviness, but perfect for the style of Cannabies! The four sickos are offering ten new songs (including one instrumental outro) and lasts 32 frosted f***ing minutes that will make you high as ever with all excellent songs and some having maybe a few less good parts but quickly forgotten because of the amazing ones! "Sativa Syn" is a near perfect debut album offering all elements to create a memorable f***ing shit from start to end and Cannabies just proved the important place they take in the Indonesian Metal scene and they probably smoked some of the greatest ganja to provide this awesome album and a must f***ing have for all sick f***ing heads! Outstanding Violent Hydro Death Metal! 9/10. [This review was first published by Andrew Sick of Sick Reviews and is used here with his kind permission.]

CD REVIEW: HUMILIATION (Soreang / Bandung) - "Fatamorgana" CD (2015), by Andrew Sick

Adam Humiliation (vokalis) and John Yoedi, April 2012
Humiliation (Soreang / Bandung) - Fatamorgana (Groupies Merch)

From Soreang (South Bandung), Humiliation come with a highly anticipated second album after an absence of three f***ing years and are rewarding all expectations with "Fatamorgana", an intense f***ing bomb of Technical Brutal Death F***ing Metal greatly done including a solid composition with its flaws but successfully delivered a high-level technical f***ing shit! Humiliation is back again to offer ten songs and, like on their debut album, we find an instrumental intro and a cover that this time is from Burgerkill and f***ing well played! Adam (Vocals), Agi (Guitars), Vman (Bass), Iho (Drums) are the four Indonesian sickos making part of this blasphemous project and are doing an excellent f***ing job, vocals are f***ing powerful, more Death metal and maybe a little redundant but still f***ing great, guitar riffs for a most part f***ing fantastic, same for the bass that is f***ing present and enjoyable with a total insane f***ing drums which are f***ing brutal and mixing very well the slow, fast and technical parts! The production of "Fatamorgana" is for the most part f***ing perfect, an excellent mix with perhaps only a flaw to miss heaviness in the sound which is not a negative thing given their technical style and this f***ing shit still sounds like a real ton of f***ing bricks! Humiliation proves with this second release to be able to perform this style without being too over shitty technical and perhaps lacking a bit of brutality in a few f***ing songs but still having those moments which are totally f***ing crazy especially in the title track of the CD! "Fatamorgana" lasts more than 35 minutes containing an astonishing technical brutal death metal having in every song a few parts a little less interesting but this killer release remains a pillar in the genre! Despite some negative, this disk is recommended to all fans of Death Metal by its quality and a composition of creative intensity! Great Technical Brutal F***ing Shit! 8/10. CD REVIEW: DEATH VOMIT (Jogja Corpsegrinder) - "Forging a Legacy" CD (2014), by Andrew Sick

Death Vomit (Jogjakarta Corpsegrinder) - Forging a Legacy (Armstretch Records)

The Indonesian f***ing gods of Death Metal Death Vomit are back after eight f***ing years to dump their second full length album "Forging a Legacy"! The line-up of this f***ing bomb is Sofyan Hadi (Guitar / Vocals), Oki Haribowo (Bass / Guitar / Vocals), Roy Agus (Drums) and the brutal f***ing trio are performing a Death F***ing Metal adding a big Brutal Death Metal touch with a total outstanding Death Metal composition that makes you f***ing addicted! Vocals of this shit are f***ing great, diverse and f***ing powerful, riffs are for the most totally f***ing great and enjoyable as f*** with a present and great job at the bass and finally the drums of this f***ing shit are just damn perfect to all f***ing levels, f***ing tight as shit, varied and f***ing sick with a great performance for the complete trio! "Forging a Legacy" consists of nine songs and lasts about 33 minutes of pure f***ing excellence with a composition almost f***ing perfect sharing a great atmosphere with a knowledge of the true Death Metal without any f***ing doubts! A production f***ing flawless, perfect mixing and sound, f***ing heavy with much depth making this f***ing shit really sounds like a f***ing bomb right in your shitty f***ing ears! Death Vomit have managed to make a triumphant return with this powerful addictive f***ing release with mostly catchy f***ing parts and eargasmic to listen with perhaps the only negative part being having two songs which are a little less dynamic and enjoyable but without removing the brutal momentum of this majestic f***ing shit! "Forging a Legacy" is a f***ing must for all Death Metal / Brutal Death sickos and Death Vomit is touching the perfection and certainly making the history of the extreme musick! F***ing Outstanding Shit! 9/10. [This review was first published by Andrew Sick of Sick Reviews on 1 January 2015 and is used here with his kind permission.]

CD REVIEW: SICKLES (Bangkalan Death Metal) - "Series Elite Disaster" EP (2014), by Andrew Sick

SICKLES 2015-2016 line-up. Left to Right: Rony (bass), Haidir (drums), Irsyad (vocals), Arie (guitar).
Sickles (Bangkalan Death Metal) - Series Elite Disaster (Self-Released, now also available on iTunes)

From the metal f***ing lands of Indonesia and formed in 2012, Sickles come with their first EP entitled "Series Elite Disaster"! Sickles perform a Brutal Death f***ing Metal with a big side of Death Metal and you can also find in this f***ing diversified disk some Black Metal and Grindcore influences and some technical moments! Muhammad Irsyad (Vocals), Arie Hardiyanto (Guitars), Roni Hardiyanto (Bass) and Haidir Arief Firdaus (Drums) are fulfilling their roles f***ing perfectly by performing an inspired, creative and f***ing brutal musick! "Series Elite Disaster" contains a very good production, a f***ing good mixing and sound, nothing spectacular but giving a raw result with f***ing good quality at all f***ing levels and a bass sound very present! The four Indonesian sickos have made an excellent f***ing job, very good vocals of Irsyad which can seems sometimes a bit redundant but is still f***ing enjoyable, f***ing great riffs in general from Arie and Roni with many good, catchy and some f***ing great bass parts, same thing on the drums side performed by Haidir, very good, f***ing fast and adding some insane f***ing moments! With its seven songs (one intro / one outro) and 20 f***ing minutes, this f***ing shit is very enjoyable, some truly f***ing brutal songs like "Arrival" or "Sabda Busuk Penguasa" but may contain some slightly weaker f***ing moments on songs like "In Carok We Blast" or "Apocalypse" and you can also find some clean symphonic or grindcore vocals! Despite its shortcomings, I think Sickles did a very good f***ing job with "Series Elite Disaster" by their imaginative side they still managed to stand out from the f***ing mass of bands everywhere and is a band to check for every true Death Metallers in the f***ing heart and we can only hope some great future shits from this f***ing awesome band! Very Good F***ing Shit! 7/10. [This review was first published by Andrew Sick of Sick Reviews on 1 January 2015 and is used here with his kind permission.]
