Bleeding Gasoline Lets Get Violent (Single)

With a new line up, new attitude and with renewed energy, BG have released a really great single in Lets Get Violent, this single is faster and heavier then any of their previous material.

BG have gone for more of a metal feel for their new music and a lot of this has to do with the new line up and their new attitude towards producing great music.

In BG’s own words, Bleeding Gasoline is all about big riffs and heavy tunes. 5 people creating music they enjoy, not writing for anyone else but themselves.

Single: Let’s Get Violent.

Let’s get violent kicks straight into it, no mucking around here with the new sound and attitude and it shows on this single, the new members fit into BG like they have been playing together for years. I really like the drumming on this single as with the bass and the guitars. Jason’s vocals are a lot heavier and in certain sections they are brutal. I can see these guys moving forward in a big way and they are only going to get better as time goes by. There is so much to like about this single, it has a great beat and sound to it and it goes for around 5 minutes. If someone asked me if I could find any faults with LGV I would have to say no.

BG single Let’s get violent is a like fresh air, you can’t get enough of it, they have even sold out of the physical copies of the single which goes to show just how amazing their whole new sound, attitude and the direction BG are taking.

BG will be bringing out another new single on the 15 October called Remove The Heart, and from what I have, it will be even more amazing then Let’s get violent.

BG will be doing a tour called The Heart Must Not Die, the first show is support for HED p.e and Snot. Just below are the dates and venues.

Vocalist Jason has come a long way over the last 15 months, with a serious operation and the sadness of having the loss of his right leg and then the birth of his first child not long after. Jason is nothing short of inspirational and I am very grateful of knowing such an amazing guy as I am sure everyone else is.

SINGLE REVIEW: BATOSAY (Jakarta Power Metal) - "Eagle Hunt", 8/10/2015

Batosay's Eagle Hunt is a great alternative to the ones who miss the good old-school power metal. The song start with powerful guitars, being followed by more nice guitar riffs and solid drumworks. A short keyboard line is also present, but the sound keeps it's more straightforward direction for the longest part of the song, which is really good, considering how crowded Power Metal's sound has become nowadays. I am a big fan of giant bombastic songs with orchestral tracks to the bones, but it is really nice to have an alternative to this style where we can enjoy the most of a more clean, guitar-driven song. And talking about Batosay's work, those are guitars which are pleasant to listen to, the leads are absolutely delightful and the solo is just like any power metal catchy single should be: full of energy and intention. Batosay delivers an excellent guitar work and, complemented with the also excellent bass work, we have a recipe for success. Vocal-wise, the singer [Rhona] shows a lot of potential and a very beautiful voice color on the lower tones, showing that he has a hidden power which can be uncovered on his full-body voice, but this power is being hindered by the constant and, if you allow me to say, unnecessary use of high pitched notes. In some cases less is more and I can see his voice growing and beautiful new aspects of it being uncovered if the super-high head voiced notes became more of an ornament than a constant through his work. Overall, I give a big "YES" to Batosay's Eagle Hunt and can't wait to listen to their upcoming EP [by Drake Chrisdensen for BUSUK CHRONICLES].

BAND BIO. Batosay formed in 2006 is Power Metal from Indonesia based in Ciamis, they will release their first EP "Eagle Hunt" via Interlude Records. Containing 6 songs taken from their single last year and one single release in 2015 with lyrical theme about love and fantasy. Release date and artwork will be revealed soon.

Valerian - "Stardust Revelation" (Single), review by Collin Brophy

Valerian is a 6 piece melodic power metal band from Surabaya, East Java Indonesia, who started back in December 2004. With all the band members all having the same interest in metal made it easy for them to come together and start their own metal band.

After playing covers from such bands as: Iron Maiden, Halloween, Judas Priest, Stradivarius and alike, it was time for the band to start making their own music. In 2006 the band decided that they wanted to make their own music, so in 2007 Valerian produced their own song titled Forsaken.

Eager to write their own music, they began the process of writing and producing their debut album called Dawn Of A New Hope, it had 5 songs on it. With the release of their debut album, Valerian wanted to be a fresh breath of new air in the Indonesian metal scene, and with new song and music written and ready to go, Valerian began the process in making their new album which should be out later this year.

In Middle 2015 Valerian released a single of their up and coming album called Stardust Revelation.

Stardust Revelations explodes from the start, with drums, keyboards, bass and guitars which gets your head moving, and once the vocals kick in you just want to start singing out loud along with the song. For a song that only goes for around 3 minutes and 50 seconds, it doesn’t seen long enough, I listened to Stardust Revelation over and over again, I couldn’t get enough of it. This song has it all, fantastic vocal, amazing drumming, and with the bass and really cool riffs makes this one truly enjoyable song.

Stardust Revelation has everything that you would expect from a power metal band, but these guys went the extra mile and for me has made of the best songs of the year in my book. If the single sounds this amazing, then I can wait to here the whole album.

I have never been a real fan of the clean vocals, but the more and more I am exposed to such great music such as Stardust Revelation, I am beginning to realise what I have been missing all these years. I would love to see Valerian come and tour Australia and witness their music in person. I don’t normally give songs / demos / albums a rating, but for me this single is definitely a 10/10.

SINGLE REVIEW: VALERIAN (Surabaya Power Metal)  "Stardust Revelation", by Drake Chrisdensen (Ruins of Elysium, Symphonic Power Metal band, Brazil)

Valerian is a power metal band from Indonesia which is releasing their new single Stardust Revelation. I will keep myself from referring to another names of the scene to compare Valerian's work, as it would be unfair to their art. They deserve to be recognized not as a "band that sounds like this or that", but for their own sound...and what an impressive sound that is. As soon as Stardust Revelation starts, we know we are about to listen to something big and enjoyable to all fans of melodic and power metal fans and that impression is kept throughout the whole song. Even though it is a heavy and fast-paced song, it still achieves a nice level of catchiness with decent work from all the band, having great guitar riffs and vocal performances. The drums could be more present and faster, but it doesn't compromise to the whole ambience of the song. Valerian is definitely one band to look for in the future and their already released work will please lots of fans of the genre.
